Frozen shoulder treatment

Has anyone had a frozen shoulder? Have just been diagnosed with one and am seeing an orthopedist tomorrow. Doctor mumbled something about cortisone injections and 8 weeks physio. Just wondering if there might be alternatives to injections in my shoulder joint Confused

Doctor got me worried when he said if the orthopedist says he wants to operate then say no!

Dont go worrying about having injections in your shoulder, I have just had a cortisone injection in my hip for Bursitis, it didnt hurt and it gives 100% blessed relief!

i had several injections in mine, the relief was almost instantaneous. Unlike the Physio where I threw up once and fainted once because it hurt so much.

mermaid how long did you have to go to physio? Wonder if I take some strong painkillers just before going it might help or something like Voltaren? Hope your shoulder is back to normal now. I've had mine for a couple of months so I hope the pysio will help.

Telesales I think I can cope with the injections for 100% relief!!

I've had 2 frozen shoulders . ( not at the same time ! )

For the second one I saw an osteopath .

Apart from manipulation things that helped mine were ultrasound and dry needling .

While it's in the acutely painful stage you need to reduce the inflamation - so ice ,ice ,ice it . ( tho obv dont get frostbite )

And take painkillers - ibruprofen or diclonfenac interspersed with paracetomol .
Take them regularly not as and when .

Sympathies .

I had about 10 sessions of physio I think. I had mine for about 9 months in total I think. Painkillers are probably a good idea but to be honest when mine was in the really painful stage I could do nothing.

Huge sympathies. Mine is fine now, but still weaker than the other.

Just wondering - did you have a bruise when you had your injection? Had my first one this morning and now have a big bruise on my shoulder. Still can't move my arm properly so hope that the pysio can help next week.
