The only thing that ever helped with mosquito bites! is there something like this in the UK?

... I used to buy it whenever I went to the US. Band-aid anti-itch gel. It was fantastic for anything stingy or itchy. The only thing that ever ever worked for me. I would have paid anything to have some sent over, but it's been discontinued!

We're off to Gozo in a couple of weeks, and we will of course do all the stuff you're meant to do, but someone will inevitably get bitten and have a bad reaction to it. Does anyone know what actually works and I can buy here?

Also, someone told me that if you take anti-histamines for a week before going, you are less tempting, or you don't get bitten, or something like that. Has anyone ever heard of this?

Would be very very grateful for any hints and tips - thank you!

I was once told that taking high dose vitamin B1 for a few weeks before going away and while you are away can help deter mosquito bites. I tried it and I can say it worked for me.

The best anti Mosquito cream I have used recently is Eurex, I am currently on holiday in Kenya with my fiancee, and find that it acts fast and works for a good 6 hours. highly recommend

Here to third Eurax. We live somewhere with hot summers and every insect in the northern hemisphere makes a beeline for me and bits/stings me (OH never has an issue) I have tried everything and Eurax is soothing straight away.
