Rosacea...

Come on during pregnancy (at least I think it's rosacea)... Did this happen to anyone else? Will it go after?

Or if not, has anyone found anything that helps?? Have been prescribed fucidin, metro gel and a steroid cream... It's just spreading more and more. So unhappy with it.

Hi, I've had rosacea for a few years now, moderate rather than severe. pregnancy doesn't seem to make much difference to mine so can't advise on whether it will go or not, though I think people find it does, if it has just come on during pregnancy.
Just a note of precaution without wanting to cause any panic, I remember reading on here that one of the drugs prescribed for it was not suitable to take during pregnancy, not sure if any of the things you said are oral drugs, but if so it might be worth double checking.
My personal approach to rosacea has been to try and manage without medical intervention. I have used these a couple of times when it's got really bad, but found that the positive affects of the drugs stopped as soon as I stopped using them, so wasn't a long term solution, and I was worried about using steroids on my face long term.
I wash my face in just warm water. I find a natural toner very good for reducing redness (a friend who is a homeopath made me one up, but I have also used freshly squeezed lemon juice with very good affect!).

The best thing I have found to use as a moisturiser is black seed oil, which comes from the black nigella plant. You can buy it on ebay, it's not expensive. It's a very light oil and entirely natural. Since I've been using this my rosacea is the best its ever been. Before that I was using Palmer cocoa butter, which didn't help but at least didn't make it worse!
I always wear foundation (I would rather not wear make up but it makes such a difference to have just a little bit on), and when I have a lot of redness use a green concealer which really helps a lot, as it balances out the red. I have recently bought some mineral based make up to try.
This combined with avoiding spicy foods really helps, I should also avoid coffee but I don't!
I don't know if this advice helps, I hope your rosacea is short term, but I have found that in the long term I'm more comfortable managing it like this. It's not perfect but I feel I've got it the best I can get it without going down the medical route.
When it's very mild and you put subtle make up on it can even give you a healthy glow! I know it can feel awful though when it's flared up. Try not to feel to stressed about it, hopefully it will go of its own accord.
