anyone know anything about a 'hypo-sensitive' baby?

Hi everyone, I took dd to the doctors today with a persistant cough and the doctor noticed dd's records shows she suffers from lots of colds. DD is always very snuffly with or without a cold and sounds like a tractor at night!!
Doctor thinks she may be hypo-sensitive (not sure on spelling!) and whats her to have an allergys test. Has anyone ever experienced this or knows anything about it cos i really have not got a clue. Would be very grateful. Oh and she is 10 months.

Sounds just like my ds - gets every cold going and very snuffly and snorty. My GP wasn't so polite, when I was worried about all the illness he has she described him as 'a snotty kid' (in a friendly way).
Children who catch lots of colds when very young are meant to have a lot less at school age.

Only just read your message as I'm a net mums virgiun. My 4 yr old suffered constantly with coughs and colds from the minute she was born. On first visit to docs he diagnosed floppy bronchial tubes (about 3 mths old) and gave us liqued salbutamol, I then had to visit him at least once a week for the next year as he kept perscribing the same stuff which was by then being thrown straight in the bin. I got that desperate as I was getting no sleep and she was a grumpy child due to coughing so much she'd be sick and being tired that I was going to video her. In the end my g.p said he would refer her to a psychiatrist (I know, WHAT FOR ). I had taken her to our local hospital a couple of times aswell and got much the same reaction so I took her to larger hospital where she was immeidiatly diagnosed as asthmatic and given an inhaler. The transformation was amazing and now she is a relitivley healthy asthmatic. I still find it hard to get g.ps to take me seriosly though, for e.g I can't get my g.p to give my daughter a flu jab despite her being in hospital last year with pnumonia.
