Hi all, i had my surgery last Friday on the 3rd March, i got home on Tues evening, and so far everything has gone fine, had a delayed wake up from the anathestic therefor i was pretty much out of it all friday, was on oxygen till sat morn, the pain was sore for first 3 days but i was connected up to morphine and pressed it whenever i needed it, however i lost the sensation to go to the toilet had had to have a catherter in for 2days, i can now walk but i'm very stooped over, i will be like this for 2 weeks, and dp has been a god send looking after me and the 2 kids, (he now realises what i do). My tummy is completely flat no excess skin whatsoever, and i have a new tummy button. I can actually say the pain is absolutely worth it.

fantastic news for you kidstrack Smile. What about the scarring ?

Kidstrack2 · 10/03/2006 09:59

hi tiredemma, it was £5523 and consultation fee was only £100, although you can get it done slightly cheaper by contacting all hospitals, i went for this particular hosp as it was only a mile up the road, easier for dp and kids to visit. One of the hospitals i looked at was £4615

hi nomdepeplume, the scarring is no where neat but they have offered me laser on it next year, but they done it on my c/section scar, so it worked out quite well, there are 2 different scars they can do and i opted for the smallest one, the other one runs hip to hip round your sides

I do think that's something that people forget about. They imagine that they'll be left with a flawless 'Baywatch' type tum. Good to hear that they can improve the appearance of scarring.

totally nodeplume, its not as if i can slip into a string bikini or anything (not that i have ever worn one anyway) but i have a flat tummy that i once had before having the kids, and i have bought a lovely tankini for my holidays and i will have the confidence to wear it now, knowing that rolls of skin aren't going to hang out iyswim
