I think that's what it is - is all around my wedding ring finger and little finger. Have taken rings off, stopped using WUp liquid, avoiding soap and using Dermol 500 to wash hands with. Have tried ordinary hand cream, steroid cream, starflower cream, all to no avail. Is still sore, itchy, occasionally bleeding. What shall I put on it and what shall I wash hands with? Will using gloves help? Even water seems to sting now.

Just wear gloves - you can have to water much hotter too! Can't understand why you'd want to do any cleaning based activity without gloves on  as all detergents bugger your skin.

I always wear gloves..as Bert says you can have the water hotter and you don't have to contend with the feel of food floating round in the water (shudders)

I wear gloves + cotton gloves inside.
let someone else do the washing up until it's healed.

Take it to the gp. You might need a stronger steroid cream. Get some thin cotton gloves to wear under the rubber ones when washing up. My ex used to get this and the only solution was for him not to wash up in the end. He did in fairness more than make up for that with vacuuming and ironing etc.

Don't make the water hotter - that will contribute to drying the skin out.

I had this when I was washing a lot of baby bottles.

Cotton liners indsiere will definitely help.

Make sure you dry your hands thoroughly.
