Has anyone had a 'mummy tuck'?

Has anyone had a tummy tuck and a boob lift to improve their post baby body. I am finally losing the weight I put on with my two children and I have now stopped breast feeding but my boobs are quite literally down to my waist and very sad looking. My tummy is really loose and is covered in stretch marks. Has anyone gone under the knife to sort these problems out and if you did how do you feel and how much did it cost?

I certainly need one.

a tummy tuck is the one thing i desire most in life, i have one of those belly's that is so distorted from pregnancy ( and a bit of overeating!!- cant blame everything on the kids) that excercise will never make it look anything other than hideous.

how much are they anyway?

Lilliput · 09/03/2006 20:26

This is what I'm trying to find out tiredemma. There must be one mumsnetter who has had a boob lift or a tummy tuck. Reveal yourselves!!

havent had any plastic surgery done myself but I used to run a Private Practice for a reputable Plastic Surgeon.

Lilliput · 09/03/2006 20:50

is it hideously expensive?

poppiesinaline · 09/03/2006 20:53

depends on what you have done but generally a small fortune yes :(

poppiesinaline · 09/03/2006 20:54

My main piece of advice would be to make sure you use a Plastic Surgeon who also works on the NHS and check he is registered with BAPS (British Association of Plastic Surgery). These cosmetic clinics can be full of cowboys.

Lilliput · 09/03/2006 21:11

I think I might reword my thread to see if anyone has had anything done. Thanks poppiesinaline!

My GP has told me I can have an'apronectomy'sp? on th NHS as have had 2 CS and the last one was not very neatly done. BUT because I want more kids (when I get a man!) he wouldn't advise it as you can only have one 'free' one!
i have known a couple of people who have had it done this way.
No idea about going private sorry.

nikkie · 09/03/2006 21:25

I also want a boob lift but would have to pay!

Socci · 09/03/2006 21:29

Is it true that you shouldn't have more children after a tummy tuck because the skin won't stretch??

nikkie · 09/03/2006 21:45

I know someone who has had 2 kids since one.

Rochwen · 10/03/2006 09:44

My tummy is ok but I miss my gorgeous boobies. I wish people had told me how much they would sag before I started breastfeeding. See, noone ever tells you that breastfeeding totally ruins your boobies. grump I look like one of those ladies in 'National Geographic'.

Still I'd be too chicken to consider plastic surgery.

RachD · 10/03/2006 10:00

Rochwen, I read that it was pregnancy itself, rather than actually breastfeeding, that makes your books attempt to touch your toes !!

Rochwen · 10/03/2006 11:34

No, it's the breastfeeding ! My GP told me and my two friends who never breastfed still have their pre-pregnancy boobies. (v jealous)

suzywong · 10/03/2006 11:38

Really, it is the pregnancy. Whether you loose or use the milk, the breast have swollen and engorged and stretched to accommodate it.

NomDePlume · 10/03/2006 11:40

My norks are still as perfect, perky and full as they were pre-pregnancy and breastfeeding

My stomach is another story entirely Sad

agalch · 10/03/2006 11:51
