DD is 9 weeks and has a bad snuffly cold (who doesnt) she doesnt have a temperature as such, but is at the top end of the normal scale ( 37.2) Is it ok to give calpol to her to help soothe anything she might be experiencing? Shes sooooo grouchy!

dd2 had calpol after her 1st set of jabs (can't remember when this is 6wks? 8 wks?) and gp advised it. she was about 9lbs at the time i think. just gave her 2.5ml

I think calpol isnt really ment to be given regularly before 3 months (hense why you only give 2 doses at immunisation)
You could try steamy rooms and chamomile sachets to sooth her?
I personally would give your gp a ring if your thinking of anything other than a one off dose.

hmmm i see where your coming from chaps, i guess i was thinking how we take paracetamol when we have a cold, i wondered if it was the same for bubs, guess youre right i shuld just call the GP. TA!

chaps mum... calpol is now officially suitable from 2 months.... not only after the jabs!

Calpol is nit like antibitics... you cant get addicted to it... and giving a baby who seems a bit ill a bit of calpol will not harm them, and will hopefully make them feel better
