Dd2 seems prone to it. I really don't want her to end up in hospital again - do you have any tips? TIA

turn hot taps on and go and sit in steamy room with dd
it is a horrible illness
wishing her a speedy recovery

Thanks desperatescousewife - I've just looked in the archives and the consensus seems to be hot/cold air and sit up with her all night (eeek - better than ending up in hospital though)

try wet towels on radiators too
to keep air steamy/humid or whatever it is

there will be others that will come along with more

hi socci, I found that when the wee chaps was particularly bad, the humid air actullymade it worse. It was good when he was over the wosr of it. M

Dd had this a coupl eof weeks ago and she ended up in hospital with nebuliser and meds, ok after an hour or so and then it disappeared. We tried a really steamy room( all rings on with boiling water, kettle boiling) but it didn't help. God luck, it was horribel and I'm glad it only lasted till next morning

give her some ibuprofen.the anti inflammatory is meant to reduce the swelling in the throat. nothing else to add i' afraid.my boys are prone to it too and always end up in hospital.

Thanks for your advice. We have taken her for a drive in the car which seems to help. I will have to make sure she doesn't lie flat tonight and keep the air moist. Thanks again Smile
