Pharmacy opening times

I'm amazed I don't know this already, but is there any customary limitation on the hours when chemists can dispense prescriptions? The reason I ask is that the one nearest me (attached to Health Centre) is closed on Saturdays.

No, but ime ones that are attached to health centres aren't open at weekends

No limitations. I guess that one relies on business from the HC so pointless opening when it is closed. My local Sainsburys has a pharmacy which is open until 10pm and during Sunday trading hours. And there's a mega chemist about 4 miles away that opens until midnight.

Down to when customers are around, IME.
One in my town is open 7am-midnight, 365 days of the year. Wonderful when you get an ear infection at 7pm on a Christmas Eve Sunday!

Most in "residential" areas close Sunday. Many in more "business oriented" City areas close Saturday and Sunday.

Other pharmacies (supermarkets/town or city centre/ inner city) are usually open until at least 6pm Mon-Sat and 4-5.30 on Sunday. There are some "late night" Boots, Lloyds and supermarkets that do 10pm-Midnight and with independents the opening hours are usually shorter yet "late night" 9pm+ pharmacies owned by one local family exist too in most large urban areas.

That is for outside London: within the capital expect at least late evening for nearly all and plenty open to midnight or even later. Last I heard there are a few 24/7 pharmacies in London, possibly in other cities too.
