Migraine type pains on right of head, stuff neck, dizziness etc. have had it before, and still have amitryptaline etc so I'm taking that, but what else can I do? Off work as can't cope with talking to people - especially when compulsively pulling hair at the back of my head like a crazy person - although I'll be trying some offline work tomorrow. But what can I do? Any suggestions welcome...

Did the doctor prescribe that medication for that problem? And did it go away and then come back? After how long? Need a bit more info, facial or actually on the side of you skull?
Sure some dr's are around tonight, but I would say go back to the docs or ring NHL direct if nothing is helping?

Oh hello Smile

Yes, prescribed previously, went away and came back although neck's been generally rubbish since Christmas. Hurts/is tender on sticky-out bit on side of head at back, tender at back of right ear, then spiky drilling pain right front and around eye - which feels migraine-y but doesn't either clear up or make me vomit. Does that make sense?

The reason I asked is because it sounded like something my friend had which was diagnosed as trans geminal neuralgia(sp)
Also I know that the drug you are taking can have quite harsh effects. So as I am not a doctor and don't know what you have been diagnosed with, I am probably worse than dr google!!!
But as you are in such pain still, you really should go back to the doctors
Hopefully drs on here tonight???
Anyone???

Thanks mince - shall google that new term... What happened to your friend?

It's quite a short acute pain, not as prolonged as yours sounds, so maybe not that in hindsight.
My friend had a variety of drugs to find out which worked best and eventually it is in remission and they haven't had an attack for over a year
I guess the point is to try and find out exactly what the problem is.

Back to the doctors then... Thanks :-)
