Milia (I thin it is called) on eyelid

Hi, I;ve got what I would call a whitehead on my eyelid. I think they are really called milia. It is driving me bonkers.
My optician looked at it last time I went for a contact lens check up and pronounced it not a problem so I'm not worried about it IYSWIM.
I do get these whiteheads on my face and I normally deal with them with a sterilised needle - doesn't hurt if you get the sweet spot - just a satisfying pop and then the whitehead comes out in a solid lump if you are lucky ( I am weird, I know Grin
However, this one os on my eyelid so I'm not about to go near my eye with a needle. It is getting very annoying, I know it is there and keep rubbing it so of coursse it is getting sore.
Anyone know how I can get rid? TIA

No help I'm afraid, but I have one on each eyelid and am desperate to get rid of them. I've tried picking and squeezing but they just hurt!

I used to have one of those, but I'm not sure you're gonna like the way I got rid of it - I got pregnant with twins! Obviously I'm not sure whether a singleton pregnancy would have worked so effectively ...

I had the milia for a few years, then at about 7 months pregnant, it went a bit crusty and I rubbed it off. It hasn't come back (nearly 2 years post partum - maybe my life is now to scary for it?).

Probably not very helpful, but I reckon the mega hormones sent mine packing :)

I had a few milia around my eyes before my wedding and went to a beautician to get them removed. They use a very small, thin, sterile needle to scratch the surface of the skin so they can then get the milia out. I would have thought if you went to a really good beautician they would be able to do it for you. Your skin might look a bit red for a few days though.

Apparently they are caused by dry skin, which means the pores get blocked, so to avoid them in future you should exfoliate regularly - anyway that's what this beautician told me. Hope that helps!

Just like smorgs, I had a milia removed by a beautician with a needle. Am so pleased I did as it really annoyed me before, althought I doubt anyone else would have noticed.
