I was wondering how long it took you to recover, I have had it for five weeks now and while the coughing fits have decreased I am totally knackered and if I go out of the house for a couple of hours I literally spend all day and the next day recovering (coughing gets worse). Have been off work for 4 weeks and have another sick line for 2 weeks but am getting so frustrated with this - normally working, looking after dd, going to the gym etc , I normally never sit down and am on the go all day. I am also getting worried about being off work for so long - feel like I am malingering!

I've lost count of the weeks, must be getting up to 8 or 9. I have only started feeling better in the last week or so. I'm still coughing but it's not the awful choking cough it was. It does get worse when I do too much but I don't feel so knackered and washed out afterwards so I am not too bothered by it. I feel like the end might be in sight, and I can't wait! I hope you start to feel better soon.

Thanks for the reply, 8 or 9 weeks is a long time to be ill, looks like i need to give it another couple of weeks anyway. Luckly I have never had anything like this before, at most a flu type bug which lasted 2 weeks.

Had it 3 years ago. I think it took me the best part of 3 months to get over it. A massive bomb of antibiotics helped a lot.
