Alas, i must add that i am an expert in the field of piles.
I had only mild piles after the birth of one of my four children, and that I suppose was because he weighed 10lbs 8oz.
I adjusted my diet and never really found them to be a pain.
But, since last summer when I ended up in hospital with food poisoning, and had about 40 bowel movements in one day, a fair bit of damage was caused.
I am now trying to recover from the food poisioning and still feeling the effects of a rather damaged small bowel.(which is another long and painful story, but if you are reading this with a mouth ulcer, well, thats what my bowel has got, in the millions, all over it.)
anyway.................
Last month my piles became very , very painful, but being a busy mum, I just carried on , and went shopping. and something went 'pop' and I started to bleed.
It was incredibly painful, I could hardly walk, and thankfully got my hubby to pick me up and take me home.
The blood was pouring out of me, and i sat on my side on the sofa for a while and it began to ease of.
The Gp took a look, ( and she comented that it didnt look pretty) and prescribed some ointment for infected skin around the' bunch of grapes' and antibiotics.
Then she suggested that I sit on all fours with a packet of frozen peas on my arse.
And so.........I did, and felt that all traces of femmininty had been removed from my person, kneeling in the front room with birds eyes best on my bum, and my four kids running around me. I found it hard to stop them playing leapfrog.
I also found it difficult to drink my tea, or dunk my biscuits.
I did have a little cry, as wondered how hubby would ever find me attractive again, but he reminded me that he has seen four kids come out of my private area, so, I guess he either has a good imagination, or he really does love me.
Thankfully things ( the piles) have died down a little, but remain an everyday irritant.
I live in fear of constipation, which is difficult to aviod when I have been advised to steer clear of high fibre foods.
So I live on fibre gel.
