Sore looking red rings under eyes

My dd is 8 and has suddenly developed some sore-looking red rings under her eyes. Literally overnight. She says they don't feel sore but they look it iyswim. If anything, they look like a bit of sunburn but tbh the chances of that are slim (or am I kidding myself??) She looks ill but apparently doesn't feel it. So hayfever maybe? Or just tiredness? Any wisdom? It looks like I want to treat it with something really, wether an ice pack or some sort of cream I don't really know.

Could it be an allergic reaction? Has she had makeup on? Failing that I woder if it is Conjunctivitis? DO they itch? It sounds almost like hayfever?

I get this sometimes, usually when I've been tired and rubbing my eyes, the best thing I've found for it is a little smear of vaseline under my eyes, works wonders and clears it up in a couple of days usually.

well it's spread Hmm Her friend at school had ther same thing this week and was told it was a reaction to a spiders bite. Am now suspecting slapped cheek but am off to the walkin centre for them to have a look. She still feels fine in herself but is now absolutely covered in a rash

Maybe try some aloe Vera to calm it down. It could be slapped cheek or conjunctivitis. A pharmacist my be able to advise on something OTC or whether you need to see a Dr.

Slapped cheek or an allergic reaction was the diagnosis, slapped cheek more likely as dd's friend has literally just had the same thing. And now ds is also covered and itchy :( We have piriton and cream to try and soothe the rash which has suddenly gone from being unproblematic to uncomfortable :( Am dreading ds2 gettign it, he's only 15 weeks old and has already recovered from a bout of truly awful eczema.
