I have a big wedding to go to at the weekend. I have a massive scabby red spot on my chin. It is big. It is bad.

Help me?!

What can I put on it to lessen the red and get rid of the dryness?

I am so bloody stupid, I never ever pick spots, but I did and now I look a sight.

Bung a big blob of moisturiser on it and keep applying

Exfoliate any really loose bits

Cover it carefully in concealer on the day, but sparingly

Passmethecrisps · 12/07/2012 16:20

aftershave? Or get some Freederm. It has an anti-inflammatory and reduces redness.

ShirleySharpeyes · 12/07/2012 16:32

Sudocrem. Brilliant stuff.

CoteDAzur · 12/07/2012 16:39

It sounds infected. You need antiseptic cream.

nilbyname · 12/07/2012 17:12

OK< will put sudocream on it at bedtime. Just been moisturising on and off all day.

Bloody hell. It looks terrible. Like a cold sore.

I second Sudocrem. Brill stuff.

EmmaFurk · 12/07/2012 17:18

I third sudocrem! I put it on everynight bedore bed.

kaumana · 12/07/2012 17:18

PS Sudocrem is Zinc based so is a good antiseptic.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/07/2012 17:43

Sudocrem here too, plenty of vit c too for wound healing.

We've all done it, everyone will be looking at the bride anyway and then later will be too drunk to notice.

CoteDAzur · 12/07/2012 20:01

kaumana - Zinc is not an antiseptic, and neither is zinc oxide which is what Sudocrem has.

Sudocrem Antiseptic has benzyl alcohol, which is an antiseptic.

kaumana · 12/07/2012 21:08

Quite happy to be corrected..

kaumana · 12/07/2012 21:52

However, can I ask you to refute the benefits of a zinc base cream.

CoteDAzur · 12/07/2012 22:16

Why would I want to refute the obvious benefits of zinc oxide creams?

kaumana · 12/07/2012 22:21

So you would say that Zinc Oxide topical lotions are good?

CoteDAzur · 12/07/2012 22:22

Is this a trick question?

kaumana · 12/07/2012 22:29

No. not at all , what is your solution to our bumpy faces.

DorothyGherkins · 12/07/2012 22:34

Lots of ideas here:

I put sudocream on it last night and it had reduced quite a bit, so thanks everyone x
