Anyone got experience of this?
My dd is going MAD with the itching, I've seen 5 different docs (original typo said "dics", that's more like it acctually...) now who all assure me it's not eczema but a viral rash that will pass but it's been over 2 weeks!
She's got a recurring sore ear and throat and tonight has a temp of 100F.

"Viral" is code for "we're not giving you any anti-bs, go away now".

It sounds rough. Have you tried piriton or similar, to soothe the itching?

oh dear - that does seem like a long time to be suffering

there's definitely something funny about though - dd has been off school for 2 days with a temp of 41C and a sore rash all over her chest. She is now (almost exactly 48 hours later) completely fine (but a bit wiped out)!

Have they given you anything to ease the itching for her?

I have also found that viral rash is code for we don't know what it is but we don't think it is serious!

Funny thing is, one doc gave me an antiB but I'm not giving it to her as I don't like them.
Last night me and dh were up bathing her in luke warm water and porrage oats! Supposed to help but not sure it did. Had her in a&e today and the registrar gave me a syrup antihistamine. DD is only 9 months so trying not to put anything too strong into her unless I can help it but she's so distressed.
I know it's not serious but very exhausting for us all not to mention driving poor dd insane.

DD frequently gets a rash if she's not been well - usually at the end of whatever illness she's had. It sounds possible that she might have an ear adn/or throat infection though and that's what the antibiotics would be for and that the rash is just a side effect of the illness. If you treat the ear & throat the rash might clear up on it's own.
