Can you get a UTI from a mooncup?

I don't have one, but if they do exert pressure, then it could be like the honeymoon phenomenon I suppose!

No experience of a mooncup, but I've had a UTI from both a diaphragm and the (much smaller) cap.

Hence, no experience with a mooncup... Grin

Yes. I don't like the pill (and can't take it anyway) so have run the gamut of other methods of contraception. With the diaphragm, I could feel it pressing forward on the urethra and after a few (sucessful!) uses starting bleeding and had the usual symptoms of a UTI. So I thought I'd try the cap because it's smaller, there's less direct pressure and it's generally less obtrusive. Went to the Margaret Pyke clinic in Covent Garden to get it. Tried it a couple of times and had the same thing. Had to go to A&E because it kicked in on a Friday evening.

Hadn't heard of a mooncup til I came on here. Checked the website and while I can't remember exactly what it said, it didn't encourage me.

I actually liked the idea of the mooncup but I cannot risk this again
