Can a 4 year old get piles? (graphic post!)

My 4 year old DS was just doing his bedtime poo and commented that it was still hanging out..I had a look and asked him to push and out popped a little white/red small blob thing and when he stopped straining it went back in again. Is this a pile or something else? I will show the nurse on Wednesday as DS2 has MMR then but just curious to know if I should act sooner?

A friends dd had a prolapse down there. Went to hospital but I think they just pushed it back in.

May be ring desperate mums helpline (better known as nhs direct!)

I had a prolapse when I was about 3 years old, basically, I think it's when the insides of the rectum/bottom of the bowel come out (not sure of the correct medical name for that bit of the body!)

All I can remember is that I had to go to the doctor and was told to drink lots of water (presumably to stop constipation, and therefore too much straining to poo) (sorry if too much information Blush).

hmm...don't think it is one of them as it is just a little ball thing which went back inside when he stopped straining. He has been poo'ing normally and drinking normally (although may be a bit more than normal) recently.
