Spotting for 6 days before period...

Why is this happening?
I have a regular 28-day cycle. Always been this way. We're ttc DC3 for 3 months. But these last two months, I've had light spotting for 5-6 days before period is due, and then period starts on time, and is normal.
This has never happened before.
Any ideas?

Hi after reading this thread I decided to join. I had an emer c section with my daughter 21 months ago. Have been ttc now since December. My periods returned April last year and I stopped bf my daughter in January 2018. Since my periods returned in April 2017 I have always had spotting a week before my period especially after a bowel moment. I fell pregnant in April and the spotting continued and ended up having a miscarriage at the end of May. Been to the doctors so many times had internal scans but they can’t see anything wrong. Just feel like it’s never going to happen to me again. The spotting only comes one week before my period and feels like it’s just getting worse. Any advice would be great thank you x

I ended up here looking for help, this cycle I started spotting brown blood on cycle day 55. Just enough for a pantyliner. Then after 5 days of spotting, the flow increased but still not as much as a regular period, gradually going from dark old blood top bright red. It's day number ten since I started spotting and I'm still bleeding. This has never happened to me before and I don't know if I should just wait it out or if it's something to be concerned about? I did an at home pregnancy test on day one of the spotting and it was negative. I've had constant light cramps every day but not as bad as my period cramps usually are. My cycles have always been irregular, but we were able to successfully conceive our 2yo daughter after ten months of ttc, without charting or any interventions. Now I've been charting for over a year and actively ttc for 6 months and nothing.. I'm fairly certain I didn't ovulate this past cycle so I'm pretty sure it's not an ectopic pregnancy. Does anyone have any ideas, suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Having similar frustrations here as you Cally! I’m 35 and have been TTC for close to two years. I’ve had all the tests and had a similar thyroid reading to you so am on Eutroxsig to correct that. I also had a low egg count (more similar to what you’d expect of a 44 years old) so was to told to go straight to IVF. Additionally it was probable I wasn’t ovulating, even though every month I had all the physical symptoms like clockwork. I took O tests two months running and got no 😁 so that was the point I went in to get checked.
So I’m due to start IVF mid-September and have obviously been keeping my fingers crossed I’d get pregnant naturally before then. Low egg count doesn’t mean no egg count! I wouldn’t say I regularly get spotting but over the last few months I have had it a day or two befor AF then AF arrives. This cycle, I have had spotting 5 days before AF is due. Hoping it’s implantai bleeding but also trying to be realistic and not get my hopes up. Everything I’ve read about IB is that is should only last 1-3 days... I’m on day 4 so am expecting to wake up to AF any time now. But this is not normal for me. I wonder if it could be the thyroid medication causing irregularities... anyone have experience of that? I called my fertility clinic and they just said to call in a week if AF hadn’t arrived. It’s a waiting game and that is the worst part!

I really need some advice. I’ve had some pretty strong pregnancy symptoms the last 3 weeks, my aerolas have darkened a lot, I’ve been completely knackered, have a kind of sick feeling most mornings when I wake (however I’m never actually sick it’s sort of like acid reflux) I’ve had bad headaches and this sort of high pitched ringing in my hair. I stared bleeding 2 days ago and instantly heart dropped thinking I’m not pregnant however I bled heavy for a day, then sort of dark ish spots, completely stopped and now I’ve bled light light blood in a tissue again. I took a test about three weeks ago which was negative and I’ve been kind of avoiding taking a new one as I don’t want to break my own heart. What do you guys think? Could this be spotting? My periods are pretty irregular as my implant was taken out just three months ago, but I would be due in about 3 days so the bleeding was a week earlier than last month. Any advice would be much appreciate!! X

My story is similar to a few of you on this post. I have a 26-day cycle and start spotting 2-5 days before my period. Been TTC for 12 cycles now and nothing. Initial blood tests at the GP revealed everything normal EXCEPT TSH, which was slightly high (3.2). A lot of you seem to be saying this, so I can't help but think the 2 factors are related! I've got an appointment at the fertility clinic in Oct, so I'll definitely bring it up with them, but the not knowing and speculating is driving me nuts. How can an embryo possibly implant when my womb lining's already on it's way out? I'm 38 and haven't been pregnant before, so feel the added stress of time running out. I'd love to hear from people similar to me who have actually managed to conceive naturally.

Hi, please I need help. I had oral sex with my girlfriend and now she spotted brown discharge before 7 days of her period. It's been 3 days she is experiencing that. The quantity is not much but she is having pain in her abdominal area. Is this symptoms of pregnancy. Please note that we haven't perform any intercourse yet.

Hi, just wondering if any of you ladies had this issue resolved and were able to get pregnant? I’ve been spotting for 5-6 days before my period for 18 months now. I did conceive earlier this year but lost the baby at 13 weeks and spotted through the pregnancy. I’m concerned that it is connected. My gp thinks it is fine but I’m unsure.
