Being ill all the time - what can one do?

I used to be this super healthy person - hardly any colds, if I got a sore throat it would be gone within a day or two.. And then I had a DD. She is now 14 months old and I go from one infection to the other - colds with fever, lasting at least a week, throat so sore it feels
like swollen etc etc. What can I do to get my old immune system back? I eat healthy, average 6.5-7 hours of sleep, exercise almost every day. Could it be because I am
permanently stressed out? Any tips / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Stress can affect your immune system, but you should probably see your GP to make sure there's nothing else causing you to be so run down.
If your GP thinks you're ok, you could try one of those probiotic drinks.

Vitamin supplements can be very effective- Vit C is the obvious one here but Zinc is also supposed to be good for the immune system. I think you can get a combined Vit C/Zinc supplement from Boots.

And it sounds a bit out there but whenever I feel a cold coming on I finely chop garlic cloves and swallow them as pills (never on an empty stomach). There's lots of info on garlic as a natural antibiotic on the internet and it absolutely works! If you battle with sore throats you can add the chopped garlic to honey and take it that way. It does have to be raw though because cooking it destroys the enzymes that have the antibiotic properties. Yes, you get garlic breath but I find if I take it after my evening meal and then eat some fresh parsley then it takes the majority of the smell away. I cannot reccommend garlic enough- it's fantastic!!
