Horrid experience with cardiologist

I saw the cardiologist today and had a horrible experience. In her last letter she had said she thought one possibility for my recurrent jaw and chest pain might be migraine. Another was coronary artery vasospasm (anyone know anything about that). Anyway my GP and I thought as it wasnt clear we would wait till she had organised the tests before going on any more medication. I have been feeling really awful, with jaw pain on both sides, sometimes going to my chest, getting short of breath and feeing tired. Anyway at todays appointment (which I waited three months for) when I dared to say I didnt think I had migraine and she had forgotton to put that the jaw pain was on both sides in the letter, she took umbrage, said I was criticising her and therefore the communication and trust had broken down and she wanted to transfer me to a colleague.
I was quite distressed (and not feeling great anyway) and tried to persuade her to see me again (with success) but I feel really really awful and am very upset. I went to PALS who wanted to write everything down and send it to a manager but I dont see what that would achieve. I dont want to make a formal complaint, I just want my symtoms to be taken seriously and get the correct investigations and treatment whatever that might be. The worst thing was she was so busy telling me that she couldn't communicate that I got too upset to be able to tell her how I was feeling.

Sad for you. Perhaps it might be better if you are transferred to another cardio. A fresh pair of eyes may be what's needed. It does sound like it's more than migraine if you're breathless and having chest pain. Try to remain calm and don't let them fob you off though.

That sounds awful. What was the actual outcome of your appointment - another appointment? Any tests or treatment ordered?

I don't think you want to see her again anyway surely? Can you go back to your GP and see what they think, also if they can refer you to someone else and more urgently too. A three month wait with your symptoms seems unacceptable.

I'm sorry. It really seems as though you're not getting the support or explanations or treatment that you need. It sounds to me as though you'd be best off with another consultant.
