Have lost all the wieght after being pregnant, which is a good thing. However, I suffered lots of stretch marks and have lots of excess skin and loose stomach muscles. I have been to a doctor for her to examine my situation. She informed me that I was "unlucky" and that i should wear "higher fitting trousers", and possibly "supportive underwear". I have been a rigorous exerciser all my life. I feel like this is abnormal, the skin hangs down to my pubic bone I want to enjoy my body again.

Anybody out there had/have excess skin? Does it improve with continued exercise? Should I consider surgery?

I know many people have this problem, there doesn't seem to be much i can do when it comes to excess skin... I would like any advice

Thanks :)

I have the same issues, having grown to enormous proportions during a twin pregnancy. I didn't have any weight to lose post partum (weighed same at 6 week check as I did a week before conception Smile), but I was left with a fairly wrinkly saggy tummy :(

I am 20 months post partum and things are still improving. I don't know of anything that's sure to help, though I would imaging sit ups/crunches to tone the underlying muscles might really help it look better.

I am happy to live with my tummy for now. I can accept the state of it becaus without it I wouldn't have my DTs :) If I am unhappy with it once I know I am finished having babies then I will consider surgery, but other than holding that option in my brain when I get depressed about having a saggy tummy, I haven't looked in to the detail of the operation. I might well conclude that it's not worth risking my health/life for the sake of a smoother tummy and decide that one-piece swimming costumes are not that bad!

I hope your tummy keeps tightening and that you find a way to improve it or make peace with it soon. But in the meantime, know that there are plenty of us out there with wrinkly tummys!
