breast tissue in armpit

Does anybody else have this? When I was pregnant my right armpit started to get swollen, my (rubbish) gp surgery at the time just did a breast exam to check for lumps, then told me it was probably an infection even though I'd just had 4 courses of different antib's which would have treated it. They just told me to leave it.
Changed gp surgery in late pregnancy. Lump was massive by this time, very noticeable. The gp said straightaway that I needed referral to breast clinic to sort it out, and ill probably just have a little op under la to get rid. But as I was 37 weeks, she said to wait until I'd delivered and then she'd refer me once I'd recovered etc.
In hospital it was rock solid and bigger than a golf ball, mw was v concerned. It absolutely killed when trying to bf off that side. Doctor just prescribed painkillers.
I've been referred and should be seen in 2 weeks. Has anyone else had this? Sorry for long post!

Please tell me you've had an ultrasound?

It could just be axillary breast tissue, if you're not sure what that is, then google it, see what comes up. It happens to about 5% of women, and it's not life threatening, so try not to worry.

Ultrasound will be at breast clinic apt. Just feel like a bit of a freak! It stopped me from wearing a lot of clothes and covering it up.

Unfortunately that does happen, a few women who've had it at the hospital where I work spend ages chatting about the sleeveless tops they'll wear once it's gone. Don't worry too much, it's easily sorted. The other thing I was thinking of is maybe a cist, but that is much rarer there, and again, not harmful.
