A few months back dd1 had a funny reaction after eating some chocolate. her eyes itched and she said he throat felt funny. I gave her piriton and they symptons eased off. the next morning her eczema had flared up. i took her to the GP and he said that he didnt think she had had a reaction at all and it was all about my anxitity about peter

but it is on dd1 notes that i am over anxious dd1 has allergies, and tbh i am trying not to be too over anxious over it, but each time i take her to the GP i can see this stuff flased up on screen

dd3 has had an reaction to egg white since this incident with dd1, and i havent taken her to the GP about it, as i dont want it to be on her notes that i am overt anxious.

I know how you feel both my kids have alleergies and gp said I was anxious, he even tried to send me to cognitive behavioural therapy! dd had a full blown allergic reaction and had to use ds epi pen for her. now gp is very subdued when I go to see him, they are human and therefore have imperfections!!! I am very for you xxx

i dont want to the stage where dd1 has a severe reaction. hers rarely goes beyond skin reactions and a bit of asthma kicking in, but itsb always there in the back of my mind.

I understand how you feel I changed gp eventually, would this be something you could consider? Do you have epi pens you can use ?

misdee · 24/02/2006 18:34

no epi-pens. not got to that stage tbh. i am thinking of paying for allergy testing for dd1+3 privatly, just so i can take the stuff to the GP and slam it on his desk. dd1 is allergic to cats, dustmites, and tartrazine. she has eczema and asthma and was described at the allergy clinic as being a typical atopic child.

To be honest misdee if they use the phrase "over anxious"I would apply to see a copy of the medical records and have this removed. A + E have frequent attenders but they are not allowed to brand them as that on the computer system as it is not a medical alert or condition, it is an opinion. everytime they come in they should be assed on the basis of the symptoms condition etc they present with.

This should not be taken into account when he advises a course of treastment. It should be considered when treatment is explained and followed up, to give you re-assurance, but if you fell it is clouding their judgment I would think you are more than justified to have it removed.

Am not saying you are a frequent attender by any means, am just giving an example
