irregular Womb Lining?

Anyone been told they have this? I had a scan a couple of weeks ago and the results came back saying I had an irregular womb lining, but the GP didn't want to elaborate on what that might mean and has referred me to the hospital. So, I googled it. I know I shouldn't have but I did and frankly, I'm not thay keen on what google had to say on the matter.

Has anyone had any experience of this that can help put my mind at ease as I am currently assuming the worst?

What a rubbish GP! How unkind to let you worry without talking you through the possibles. he/she must have some idea.

What are your symptoms? ie why did you have the scan?

How old are you?

"Irregular" could mean anything but usually it means over growth which can be called endometrial hyperplasia. This can be benign or possibly a condition that can lead to cancer if it continues. Even if it did, the treatment is 99% successful if caught early.

Can you go back to your GP and demand some more info if you are having to wait for your appt with the consultant?

Thank you SO much for your reply!

I presume the GP didn't want to speculate on the cause of it. She did say lots of things could cause it, but that didn't really help.

I have been having problems with pains and irregular bleeding since my son was born 10 months ago. I've been telling the professionals about my pains ever since, but as I had a very difficult labour (in short a failed emergency section, and eventual delivery by forceps leading to 4th degree tear, 2 other vaginal tears and 2 tears to my womb) I was told that the pains etc were to be expected. It's only recently when I went to GP as the pains in my scar and irregular bleeding were getting worse that I was referred for a scan intended to put my mind at rest

I'm in my late 20s. Have one child. No previous problems! The pains are either a sharp stabbing pain on one side of my section scar (always the same side) or a general dull ache right across the scar. The stabbing pain is always accompanied with bleeding and it's always heavy (has soaked through a marernity pad and to my jeans twice in the space of 2 hours on the worst occasion).

I have an appt with a different GP in just over a week about something entirely different, but I'm going to ask him as well.

I shouldn't have done the googling!!
