Bloating woes! Please help...

I had my second baby nearly 3 years ago and ever since then it seems I've suffered from the most awful bloating. It's hard to know when it started as for the first year after giving birth I put my big tummy down to not being back in shape. As time went on though it became clear the problem was terrible, miserable bloating! I don't have any pain from it and my morning belly is flatter, but by mid afternoon I look 5 months pregnant. My stomach is rock hard and huge. I'm quite slim with small boobs which makes my tummy look even worse. It's horrid, knocking my confidence and generally driving me insane.

I had a scan about 6 months ago which they say showed up nothing. I've been treated for helicobacter (which has at least cured my heartburn) and I've been taking fibre and probiotics reasonably religiously since the start of the year. Nothing seems to be working and with the holiday season round the corner it's really getting me down. If anyone suffers or has suffered with similar please help. I'm at a loss what to do apart from pop my stomach like a balloon!

I would keep a food diary to see if you have any triggers - mine is wheat and excess sugar - which would fit with the candida too. I take buscopan regularly too - you can get it on prescription - which helps my gut prepare to digest food.

Thank you for the tips. Will start keeping a new food diary and am planning to try some natural solutions (peppermint, camomile etc) alongside my probiotics. I've tried to keep track in the past on whether certain foods trigger it further but it seems my tummy swells the same day in day out no matter what I consume.

I had this and was diagnosed being lactose intolerant. The test involved drinking a liquid high in lactose and having a blood test after.

Although I must say I was experiencing a fair amount of discomfort in addition to looking 5 months pregnant..
