Ok I have a longstanding problem in that I struggle to poo, a bit like constipation but not.

I'm going to make an appointment next week but anything I can buy over counter just now?

I feel I need to go, feel sick as if I eat any more ill throw up, but also feel hungry as I've not ate despite being up for 2 hours! Also getting sore stomach.

I know it doesn't sound horrendous but it's a constant battle. Anyway going to chemist at 9, what should I get? What works best? Suppositories? Something like dulcolax?

Kiwi fruit skins are apparently a good laxative.

I'm wondering what you mean by it's constipation, not not?

Can you explain?

Constipation is when you feel you want to go but can't, or you go and it's " incomplete" or you have to bear down hard to pass any poo. The poo itself is hard and sometimes like small peas.

On the otherhand, if you simply can't get the poo out, you could have a physical problem like a rectocele- a prolapse of your rectum- quite common after having kids. This means the poo gets stuck " round the bends".

If it's consitpation proper, then you need fibre- especially from fruit and veg, plenty of fluid and exercise- a lot of constipation is dues to bowels that don't move due to people sitting around all day. You need to have a good 30 mins brisk walk every day.

Sorry if this sounds like a lecture- trying ti help!
