Argh, LO has had his 12 week injections on wednesday and has been clingy and crying since. I am feeling really down and tired at the mo.
He was really poorly after his 8 week injections too and that lasted nearly a week.

I could just do with a bit of support and some coping strategies please.

Ah LO has finally fallen asleep, really hoping he is feeling better soon. Anyone got any tips on how to settle him?

Calpol, mega cuddles and my DS was soothes by having his back then tummy rubbed in circles for ages while I said 'shhhhhh shhhhh' for ages - Not sure you can use Ibuprofen at 12 weeks (Neurofen) - but worked better than Calpol, which is paracetamol, at 16 weeks? And finally - teething granules (Nelsons) were a godsend not just for teething but a range of illness related grumpiness - they're homeopathic camomile - I totally don't believe in homeopathy, at all - but these are magic powder...!

I spent the last two days snuggled up next to him in bed. He has had calpol and ibuprofen (its ok from 3 months) but it doesn't seem to last very long. I am just feeling so stressed and a bit depressed really and just not coping very well. Luckily my older DS is staying at his dads so haven't had to look after him too.

Really feel for you as I remember a very distressing afternoon/evening spent on the sofa with a sobbing/wailing baby in my arms after 8 weeks jabs. But I got off lightly as he was fine the next day. Is there anyone who can help you out over the weekend, giving you some time off to get some rest? Or at least someone to keep you company and cheer you up? I know the weather is cr*p but I really recommend getting out of the house if possible, with LO tucked up nicely. My biggest mistake is always when I spend a whole day in the house.

Ah that sounds really tough :( Have you felt low Abd stressed before jabs or has that triggered it?

PandaSpaniel · 09/06/2012 16:26

Been feeling low before the jabs, I do suffer from depression and am getting help for it. DS feeling a bit better today plus my fella is off work for the weekend so the stress is off a little. Just had a bit of a crisis this week. So very hard when they are ill, feel so helpless.

Glad you are not alone over the weekend - hope your little one is on the mend now.

It's awful, ESP when so tiny. Hope you get some rest and recharge this weekend :)
