how MILD can chicken pox be?

i thought ds had the spots yesrterday monring but a few more appeareed during the day, and now they seem to be less of a spot, some have wee, tiny wee, scabs - if u cud call them that.
he was contrary but woke only once last night and cried for all of 2 mins.
this morning he has a runny runny nose.

any ideas or help

oh the spots were on the nap of the neck , upper chest, underarm about 10/12. he's 18mths
and has been in contact with 2 children who had it in the last month

Chicken pox definately looks like little blister with yellowy fluid in it before it dries into a scab. I guess he could have it very mildly, some children do get it lightly.

Mind you, I thought dd had got away with a mild dose, but the worst of it came out a couple of days later because the spots seem to come out in crops iyswim.

tiny, they are so small they could be blisters but i just wouldnt expect them to be that small but then for their size its prob normal

My dd got chicken pox when she was 14 months and got them extremly mildly she felt unwell but only had a few spots on her legs and her arms, apparently it can be mild like this but it does mean they probably wont gain immunity from a mild case and could get it again.

Very, very mild. Ds got it at 3 months. He only had about 10 spots.

Now at age six he has shingles

DS2 had about 6 tiny spots when 4 months old and fully BF -DS1 was pox-ridden. But DS2was blood-tested later and wasn't immune so was given the jab(he had frequent courses of oral steroids at the time, so they recommended it).

ds was 5 weeks old when he had chicken pox. He had less than 10 spots, mainly on his face and scalp. Fortunately he didn't seem bothered by it

I caught cp age 23 from my neice who had only a few spots. I was plastered from head to foot (inside and out..ouch) and off work for 2 weeks. Five months later I got pregnant with ds1 who I bf for 9 months - a couple of months (he was aged 11 months) later he caught cp and was also plastered! so much for bf immunity. My ds2 and dd had it together aged 2 and 3 and had only a handful of spots.

Spots almost always start on the trunk and can precede feeling ill. I think a very mild case can mean they can catch it again.

Hopefully then ds won't get it again - he is COVERED - in partic on his willy/groin (nappy changing is a nightmare) - so much so we ended up in A&E as we weren't convinced it was CP!

Another with an experience of very mild CP for DD1 at around 11/12 months. Then she was utterly floored and quite poorly wtih shingles at around 3.5.

I only had three spots when I had CP as a child.

Three of me children got it together. they had loads of spots, but didn't really feel ill with it at all (except one had a temperture for one afternoon). I don't think it has to be a major illness to be real IYSWIM.

Mind you, people might have a point about getting shingles later on in life.
