Treating a scald

I scaled myself yesterday on the steam from the kettle. Treated it properly, cold water for half an hour and it's been fine. Except today it's blistered and I keep catching it (and now torn slightly) and it hurts a lot. Bit worried about putting a gauze dressing over it in case it sticks. What is the best thing to do?

Both NHS and Red Cross suggest clingfilm and normal painkillers, though that's straight after - here. However, if you're worried at all, call NHS direct.

I've an Aloe Vera plant, kept specially for burns and blisters etc. Cutting a leaf off does no damage to plant and produces cooling, healing gel. Garden centres will be open this weekend and small plants not expensive.

I forgot yesterday I had an aloe plant. I've put a bit of cling film underneath some gauze

yes lots of special dressings ,non adherent dressings .
Any pharmacy or big supermarket will have them .
Melolin is a common one .

Don't put stuff like aloe beta on it, burns get infected very easily
