Well there is a flu virus going around that leaves the poor little sufferers with dark circles round their eyes, is that what you mean softmusk?

Hi Softmusk - am fairly new to MN but just noticed your thread. My DS had this last Monday. Apparently called "novovirus" or "winter vomiting bug". Very infectious - loads of schools affected throughout UK. Starts suddenly with nausea, then projectile vomiting, then fever, headache and general aches. Usually lasts 48 hrs but need to keep children at home for a further 24 hours once symptoms disappear as still infectious. And yes, some children are left with 'black eyes' as a result. Dark circles or shadows. A really bad bug to catch. Hope this helps.
