Hello, just wondered if anyone could help regarding what we can have.
I know the general rules, dry toast, sips of water etc. But this is only the second time I've had it, and my dc's. I can't believe how thirsty I am. H has said no ice in water, no ice pops, and he's been right about most of it making me more sick the last time I had it (drinking tea, lucozade etc).
So as daft as it sounds I thought I'd ask on here if anyone's found any secrets got quenching your thirst while poorly, because sipping water every now and then isn't doing it.

Not the end of the world I know, but thought I may as well ask while I'm sitting here feeding dd Smile.

icepops are fine as are any other drinks you have (although avoid fruit juices as they are acidic). If you are dehydrated then get some rehydration salts e.g. dioralyte

An ice pop won't hurt you, I would not give one to my children untl they were keeping water and food down as they have more sensitive stomachs. If you want one can't see the harm. Personally when I have d and v water and maybe some toast is all I want.

Generally I tend to stick to bland food and sips of water. My friend had severe hyperemis sickness when pregnant and she found water melon very helpful

If you're thirsty I'd drink more than just sips, as your body is telling you you need more hydration. The aim with a stomach bug is to balance not doing something to make yourself more sick with (the more important aim) of stopping yourself getting dehydrated. So really if small sips aren't doing it, then you really need more water. Its probably sensible to avoid Lucozade and tea (fizzy and caffeine/dairy) but cold tap water should be fine.

Ice pop should be fine too!!!

Try rehydration solutions, like Dioralyte to avoid dehydration too.

Thank you very much Smile h kept saying something really cold would set me straight off again, and my back and hips are aching so much from retching (too much information I know!), that I didn't want to risk it.

Thank you.
