Been up since 4am with itchy itchy eyes!

Have drops from the Dr, they aren't really helping.

What hayfever medication works for you?

Tesco's own brand Hay fever relief tablets, well priced and seem to be doing the trick.

I always have to take any hay fever tablets at night because they make me sleepy even the non-drowsy ones, its the same for any brand though, on the plus side I always get a good nights sleep.

We use Tesco own brand too. I have read somewhere that they are the best product to buy at the moment (could have read that on mn though) Grin

You want to figure out which active drug works for you as there are several. The two main ones are loratadine and cetirzine (may have spelt those slightly wrong). The different shops' own brand version varies. I know Sainsburys' own brand is loratadine and Superdrug is cetrizine. So check what's in the drugs before you get tablets that are the same drug that doesn't work or something!

What MsWeatherwax said :)

I find certirazine works for my hayfever symptoms a bit, but nowhere near for the full 24hrs before you can take another one. Loratadine doesn't work at all, but strangely enough it worked really well when I had an allergic reaction to penicillin.

I personally know plenty of people who will say the same about either one of them, so it's really a case of finding what works for you.

What actually is the most effective remedy for me is the old Piriton (not the one-a-day version...the one that knocks you out - Chlorphenamine I think?) but that's not very practical if/when you need to drive and stay alert.

Msweatherwax it's loratidine I can't take, gives me a tummy ache.

Tesco have an own brand cetirazine so I'm dosed up on that and hoping to feel better Smile
