ds was discharged from hospital yesterday about being on iv fluids for dehydration following a sever e bout of gastroenteritis.I've told to be offering fluids every hour or so.
since being home he has been drinking normally and seems quite bright. He fell asleep at about 9pm last night and hasn't woken since.do i wake him to give him a drink? or just assume that as he is sleeping and hasn't vomitted all day or night that its safe to leave him?

Alexsmum, If he's breathing normally and he's not lost more fluids over the last 24 hours than on a day when he's healthy I think I'd let him sleep - little ones do a lot of healing in their sleep

If you're really concerned go with your instincts
