Anyone want to diagnose me?

My symptoms sound so silly I feel a bit daft going to my GP

I keep getting muscle spasms in my legs and hands. They literally just jerk really suddenly. Plus ive got pins and needles around my mouth, and on my lips and nose.

I think I'm possibly being a hypochondriac but it's driving me nuts!!

I would advise that you see your doctor.

Any other symptoms?

Memoo · 14/05/2012 11:36

I have a lot of stiffness but I have arthritis so kind of putting it down to that

Very tired too but I have 3 kids so I expect that's kind of normal really :)

your symptoms don't sound silly!!!! They sound nerve related.

Get your non-hypochondriac backside down to the docs pronto! For goodness sakes - neither google nor MN is your friend for these sorts of things.

Pick up the phone and make an appointment today. If it helps, write down the symptoms so when you get in there you aren't so busy apologising for wasting their time that you forget half the story.

A very legitimate reason to see the doc if you ask me!

Eek! Ok

Don't panic - just don't be dismissive of what are, at the end of the day, actual symptoms. :)

GinPalace · 14/05/2012 12:06

There is nothing taking action though, so do it today not tomorrow. Then you can have answers or reassurance and either is good.

Memoo · 14/05/2012 12:40

I will do. I'll phone when they open after lunch.

Did you get your appointment? :)

Memoo · 14/05/2012 23:11

Hi, yes but it's not until a week on Thursday as my GP only works 2 days a week.
I'm bit worried about it all tbh.

B12 deficiency can cause strange tingly things and tiredness. As can thyroid probs, and both those are very easy to sort out. Pressure on a nerve somewhere could also be the cause of the pins and needles, do you have a bad back?

Memoo · 14/05/2012 23:29

I know my thyroid is fine as I had full bloods done a while back as I have hypothyroidism. Not sure if bloods would pick up b12 would they?

I don't have a bad back but I guess a nerve could get trapped anywhere can it?

It's the spasms that are the most troublesome. Most days it happens 20-30 times but I had one day last week where it was about 100 times.

I know a good osteopath. Might make an appointment with her.

Well a week on thursday isn't tooo bad only 9 days away now and you probably won't die in the meantime Wink so try not to let it occupy your mind too much, though no doubt easier said than done when it is happening as frequently as that. Seeing your friend osteopath like a great idea. Hope its something simple to diagnose and fix. :)
