the breast cancer site

It apparently funds mammagrams when you click on the link!

oh no FGS this is a total urban myth

"Unlike the way things are explained in the e-mail, one click does not magically provide a mammogram to a needy woman ? it takes 45,000 clicks, not just one. Averaging 58,000 clicks a day, The Breast Cancer Site provides funding for approximately 1.3 mammograms a day. Visitors are also not prohibited from clicking more than once; they just can't do so more than once a day.

Interesting point - I did wonder tbh, especially as it's an American site/campaign

I got this sent to me in an email today from a relative in the us and read it as if I clicked someone would get a mammogram (or maybe that's what I wasnted to read it as )

The email was one of those 'pass it onto 10 people today' ones, which tbh I hate doing (so I didn't) Then I saw this thread.

mcmum, sorry to hear about your friend but this site is for a US breast cancer screening campaign, not UK (which is not to say it's not a worthy cause)

kokeshi · 18/02/2006 01:49

Well done for finding this and putting it on! Clicked, bumped and bookmarked!

mcmum · 18/02/2006 20:56

my friend started her herceptin this week and seems to be coping much better with this than her chemo, but she said that she feels like she has flu. Has any of you had herceptin and is this normal side effect

Thought I would bump this thread to remind people. I still click on site before I click on Mumsnet. So quite frequently!
