How to get rid of piles???

I know really embarrassing thought about changing my name but don't care.

Anyway since the birth of DD2 3 weeks ago am now the proud owner of a little pile ! MW saw it but never said how I go about getting rid of the little blighter. As my bleeding has now stopped am thinking of getting back in the saddle so to speak in a few weeks with DP but want to get rid of my little friend before then. It's not itchy or bleeding or anything, is there a cream I can get, whats the best?

my dad had a cream called anusel i think (spotted it in the bathroom). i've heard you can gently push them back in.

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 15/02/2006 17:28

yes anusol cream is the one you want - had them after I had DS1 (strangely not after DS2 despite the fac tthat DS1 was a CS with no labour and DS2 was a VBAC....). Anyhow, that stuff works really well.

I had piles even before children and then got them even worse afterwards. I have tried everything and the only thing that even begins to work is Proctofoam. You ahve to get it prescribed. It has worked for everyone I know who has piles. It works almost immediately. The instructions tell you to insert, but my advice is to apply it to the outside ones first.

nightmare - can't add a new message for some reason (new sceptical emoticon = buggered system today?) so will add to this instead...

ok - so my farmers are baaaaad today. they've kind of been lingering in a threatening lurky way since ds was born 16 months ago, but sitting on hard ground all afternoon yday has caused the little bleeders (so to speak) to emerge with gusto.

so - what're your views on rememdies please? good old anusol and gently pushing has resulted in nowt but a sore arse so far .

sorry if you're having your lunch btw.

Germaloids cream is very good too, and you can get germaloids moist loo roll

I had one for months after DD2 was born. She's 9 months and it's just now going away.

anusol sepositories (sp?) are the best or the cream.

I got piles about two months after DD1 was born and still have them two months later Have been using Anusol (what a lovely name to have to ask for!) but it doesn't seem to do much. Am considering going to the doc to ask for something stronger - when I mentioned it to him before, he said it would pass in a couple of months. A right old pain in the arse, quite literally. Hope you get yours sorted soon...

Tutter · 21/09/2006 11:42

thanks pamirker, fellow farmers-sufferer

my gp took a look () this morning and has given me suppositories, ointment and anaesthetic gel (which the pesky chemist won't have til tomorrow).

if they don't clear i will be referred for (gulp) piles injections.... [wan emoticon].

she also suggested sitting on frozen peas. i have none. will a frozen shoulder of lamb work do you think?
