Vaccinations for Turkey...

I'm travelling to Turkey this summer with two young children - 2 years and 5. We're staying for 3 weeks at parents in laws holiday apartment near Bodrum. The doctors have recommended vaccinations for all of us. Has anyone had vaccinations for Turkey and where there any side effects? Many thanks for any advice.

what did the doctor recommend? I would think hepA and MMR?

I would recommend that you are all in date for diphtheria, tetanus and polio, MMR, and would advise Hep A vaccine as well. Typhoid is less likely but those travelling off the beaten track away from the 'tourist' areas may be at higher risk.

They are all 'dead' vaccines (apart from MMR) and don't tend to have significant side effects for most people - a sore arm, and potentially a slight temperature and feeling a bit off-colour can also occur (a normal immune response).
