Just been diagnosed with Pityriasis rosea - any tips for a speedy recovery as I am going on holiday in a month :(

Had PR a few years ago (on my stomach and back, went to a dermatologist for a diagnosis). It will fade quite quickly but I found that there was nothing I could use on my skin or actually take to make it go any quicker than it did (my case cleared up within 3-4 weeks).

What causes it to actually happen is not fully understood.

Dd1 had this a couple of years ago - again, it was shortly before a holiday. In her case the appearance didn't bother her as it wasn't a swimsuit-type holiday, but it was going to be warm and heat apparently makes the itching worse. The itching was all gone within a couple of weeks so was no problem at all, but she still had a few of the marks (not many, though IIRC). So it may well be no problem at all, depending on whether it's the itch or the look of it that's concerning you.

i am suffering from very mild itching, but it is the look of it. i just google imaged it and i don't have it anywhere near as bad as the horrific images that came up, but this is the first bikini holiday i have had in about 6 years, so was looking forward to dusting it off and squeezing into it again :(

You might be OK if you've got a month to go - dd1's was nearly gone within that time. Hope so! Smile
