Tricyclic antidepressants for IBS?

Has anyone tried TCA and do they work? I am at my wit's end with IBS and am willing to try anything at this stage...

It did make me a bit dopey in the mornings and a dry mouth. Have also been taking it more recently for arthritis pain. Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to take it any more cos of the effects on my heart rate :( bloody loved that drug too.
