HI there

yes I have had several operations, some for intra-uterine adhesions and some around my bowel. They are worth having if you are in pain but unfortunately there is always the chance of them coming back as you make more scar tissue each time you operate. Let me know if you have any specific questions !

I had surgery for adhesions about 15 years after an appendix operation.Absolutely great. I had had various amounts of pain in the previous 5 years. The operation stopped the pain and i havent had it since.
That is my personal experience FWIW.My only problem is that now i have had 4 operations over the years around the stomach area, and when it looked like i might have needed a 5th, they were a bit reluctant. But i didnt need the 5th operation and hope i never will.

Hi 2old, I had surgery 4 weeks ago to remove adhesions between my bowel and left pelvic sidewall and around my left fallopian tube which they had to remove. I can empathise with your pain as before the op I had left lower pelvic pain, sciatica, perineal pain and a tight feeling all around my left hip. Couldn't rotate my left hip at all. Have you seen a doctor or consultant about it yet? It took a year for them to diagnose me and the only way is by laparoscopy

Thanks Hatchet I identify with your problems I am in agony on & off for 17 years since breast reconstruction (mastectomy) in all 6 lots of abdominal surgery have now got dx of hernia but GP is now thinking it is probably adhesions. surgeon now thinks it is highly possible and I have to ring for admission date for hernia repair & laparoscopy. Do you feel better since your surgery BTW have Just been told I have been told told I have been told I have hyperthyroidism .......old age yuk Sad but what is the alternative?

Hi 2old, I feel very much better since the surgery but not 100%, I was told by the consultant gyne who did the op that it is very likely that the adhesions will return. I am going back for my post op check in 8 weeks and already by then there will be signs if the adhesions do re-form. My main worry is that whilst I can forsake a fallopian tube, my bowel is a whole different ball game. Similar to lloyds story i guess. I hope you find some relief.

Hi there I just found this thread and was interested in how you ladies are now getting on / what the long term prognosis was like? I had an op for adhesions in January and still OK, I keep waiting thinking they might come back! Hope you are still doing well?
