I am a newbie when it comes to MOONCUPS ....

I have some questions if any one can answer them for me i would really appreciate it.

  1. Did you cut off all the stem?

  2. Should i be able to feel the mooncup in me? And also should i be able to reach it without the stem?

  3. Do i need to wear a pad with it?

  4. I feel uncomfortable but then i never used tampons so maybe its just my body getting used to it.

TIA

Love my moon cup! I cut off about half the stem, which is right for me. You wear it low, much lower that a tampon. But if it's in right you can't really feel it and it's comfy. As its so low you can get it out easily just reach up , pinch and pull. I wear a pad with it at night but I am very heavy. It holds so much that unless you are very heavy you will be fine without one. Putting it in I fold it up put in let go and then twizzle it to check its sealed right and off I go!

Mooncups are nort the only cups. I HATED my Mooncup - I ended up trimming the whole damn stem off and it was still uncomfortable.

Here is possibly the best selection of cups vailable anywhere on the planet. I like the ball MeLunas very much indeed and have a few cups in different styles, colours and sizes depending on my flow/mood.

Also there used to be a livejournal community called 'menstrual cups' which had an amazingly detailed list of the available brands with exact dimensions/capacity etc. Incredibly useful.

Hang on . . . yes, here it is: menstrual-cups.livejournal.com/

I read lots on there when I was working up the courage to give it a go!

Thank you for the link, with have a look later. I never got around to trying the moon cup again this period as i ended up working double shifts (very early mornings) and baby sitting after work, so i didn't have time to have another try. Also got a horrible sickness bug bluergh so wasn't up for anything. But there is always next month!! Grin

Love my mooncup! I trimmed off the whole stem. Took me til the 2 nd month to really get the hang of it tho. Def insert while in squat position. I use water as lube and it's fine. I'm really heavy on the 2 nd day so if going out for any length of time will use a liner for that day only but don't use them otherwise.

Good luck!

I have been using a mooncup for two cycles, but I find the 15 ml capacity rather limiting. I can fill it in less than an hour on a heavy day, so that means I can never be far from a toilet. I'm might be tempted to get a femmecup, because it holds 30 ml.
