Question out of interest about Evening Primrose Oil. Just started taking this as have been feeling down for a bit and the dr is willing to try this before ad's. I'm on 120mg, twice a day and have been waking up feeling so tired the last couple of mornings. Is it related to the Eve Primrose? Or coincidence? And do you think it will wear off as I get used to them (only taken them for 3 days.) Any experience welcome, as well as your best ideas for shifting me "low" mood. BTW have tried SJW but it increased my migraines, so not keen to try again...

Thanks

This link expains just how evening primrose oil works. Seems like your not taking a high enough does.
IME depression (which is responsive to antidepressant like prozac) has been cuased by poor sleeping pattern.
It is largly to do with the hormone seratonin (the 'happy' hormone) Seratonin is rep[lenished in your brain after you enter a deep sleep, this normally happens after about 4 hrs in a normal adult sleep pattern, However, recent studies have shown that people suffering from depression do not regularly enter this stage of sleep. Pozac and the like prolong the effect of seratonin and are thought to aid the body in entering this 'deep sleep'
If you are not keen to try antidepressants, I have found that a combination of regular exercise and valarium/chamomile tea work wonders for me.
And give the evening primrose oil a chance.
It takes approx three months for ad like prozac to work as this is the legth of time it can take to chemically boost your seratonin levels.

I find a huge difference in a very short space of time from doing regular exercise.

There are many types of antids depending on the type of depression you have and I'm not saying that this is what you need but this is my expereince of being aboe to controll my own 'down' poeriods.
Sorry this is so long, hope it helps
