anyway to try and make him use t he bad one he has to wear patches.

UI feel realy sad abotu this for no real reason but feelt hat in the grandcale fo things it coudl eb a lot worse

What´s a first leap pad Cod? Pleased your boy is getting better! Problem with close work with the patch is DD can´t see a thing. Puzzles etc. she normally does are impossible. Will this first leap thing work better? Thanks!

Hi all quick update dd's eyes have finally become equal so no more patching yippee came just in time for our holiday which was great not having to patch while away. Had another check up today and still equal. I've told dd her patch is on holiday and may have to come back just in case we have to start again

Sorry about this slight hijack here, just want to garner any info from opticians etc might be on here:

I have very bad squints in both eyes. I had to operations as a child (I'm 38) (today!!) and then lots of patches/work putting the lion in the cage blah blah. It worked for a while, but now they are terrible. I hate looking at photos of myself, I'm actually quite nervous even talking to pple.

As I might be thinking of going back to work in a while, its really bugging me about interviews etc - it does get worse when nervious. So, I guess my question is, can they do anything for someone so old? I have already asked for a referral from my GP but what if anything can they do?

Long shot, but thanks if anyone replies.

hi, niceglasses my daughter has had three lots of squint surgery. They do all the squint surgery on one day and twice saw adults having it done so i'm sure something could be done. I think it gets more difficult though the more opp's you have due to scaring.

Thanks carol, gives me a bit of hope!!

Hi another update , my daughter is 4 and patches for 4 hours a day every morning , Doctors told us it better in the morning and when she is busy with activities at nursery , its been about 3-6 months now and she was greatly improved last check she could go three stages better on the charts.
The next check up is Friday and we will also find out about the surjury to correct the squint then.
A lady I work with had squint surjury and she is about 45, she said she had it once at age 3 and did pay to go and have it private the other year as she became aware that one of her eyes was not completely straight again, and you would not know other than she told me when I explained about my daughter.
