Are there are "bone" specialists on here?

At the beginning of December I fell and put out my hand to stop myself. It hurt for 3 weeks before I gave up and saw a Doctor who said it may be a Scaphoid fracture, and sent me for an Xray.

The couldn't see a fracture so said it must be soft tissue damage and sent me to physio who gave me a splint for it. Even the Physio was surpsied it wasn't broken. I was told to wear the splint and rest it etc, as it started to be less painful I was given exercises and for the past month I have been able to use it somewhat normally, but it tires easily and starts to ache when I do things such as typing or using a mouse. I also cannot stand any vibration in it such as using a strimmer.

Until Monday!

I was "Hi Fived" by a young lad, and bless him, it was very gentle. But I felt a click in my wrist and a sudden pain. I'm now back to square 1. I was hoping that if I just started using the support again it would settle, but I'm still getting really painful twinges - catch your breath type pain.

Should I go back to the Doctors and insist on another Xray? Or just wear the support and not use it for the next few weeks?

Thanks for you ideas.

Ouch!!!! I think you should definitely go back and insist on another Xray. 3 months after the original injury it doesn't sound right that it's hurting so much or that a gentle high five could set the original pain off again. I wonder if there was/is a fracture. I think some can be very hard to spot. Hope you get it sorted v soon.

Scaphoid fractures can be hard to see which is why if there is a 'query scaphoid fracture' that can't immediately be seen, they should be re-x-rayed 10 days after the original injury to check.
It is important that if there is or even isn't a fracture, that they are well managed in the early days of an injury.

Thank you for your comments. Do you think I should go straight to minor injuries, or should I go via my GP?

I was going to give my Physio a ring but I think Im out of the "grace" period after she discharged me, but she is in the same building as Xray so I thought she might be able to get something done quicker for me iyswim
