poor you YG

this happened to me too. I chose to have the tooth out, but I was given the choice between that or having the root canal done again.

Soooooo painful, you have my sympathy

I didn't have to have my root canal done again; the antibiotics cleared the infection and it didn't come back. If you get repeated infections they might want to take the tooth out or refill it, but it isn't always necessary.

You can have ie re done but it is likely to go again.I am in the middle of this and am having the tooth out because I have been ill with it so many times. My dentist says they commonly go wrong and he always suggests removing a failed one as it will go again usually HTH you really have my sympathy

I had mine out eventually Yorkie - I'm relieved now as it caused me months of hassle. However, I think I may have to shell out for an implant, as it was a big molar and I'm finding eating certain things on that side awkward.

I've had a root-canalled tooth redone because of infection. It wasn't difficult or painful, although my dentist did refer me to a specialist to make sure it was done right. That was 2 years ago and no probs since.

Yes, it was...

£650 to the specialist, and he didn't even restore it. That was another £100 to my own dentist.

YG, I had this and I had the root canal done again. Glad I did now but afterwards I wished I'd just had it taken out as it was pretty painful (sorry).

Mine didn't cost anything to have redone, was NHS.
