Returned to work from mat leave at beginning of feb. Baby (7mths) started nursery then. Since then baby has had 2 bouts of gastroenteritis, conjunctivitis a constant cold and cough.

I have also been pretty constantly unwell - cold, flu and now conjuntivitis. I know the starting nursery can be tough and it will take a while for baby's immune system to develop....but i was wondering is there anything i can do to boost both of our immune systems? i feel we have been constantly ill and it is really getting me down (and stressed!).

my health is usually really good. i have a pretty good diet, a little overweight and not getting to exercise as i am constantly ill!!!

anyone have any pearls of wisdom or do i just have to tough it out?

I don't really have any advice but I will be watching with interest as I am in exactly the same boat - DS and I are both constantly ill - if it's not him, it's me.

The only things that I can think of is that I don't have a great digestive system, and I have heard that that is key to the immune system.

The other one is stress - it lowers your immune system - but if you are anything like me you will be stuck in a vicious circle because having an ill baby is very stressful!

Try zinc supplement at a suitable dose, that's b/c Zn is often deficient and is linked to low immunity, also B vits and super-good diet, ie low on processed foods.

A probiotic ( not one of those things you drink that's full of sugar). You can get children's ones they have from 6 months (optibac) and one for yourself.

Interested in the zinc thingy. Might give it a whirl.
