Just wondering if anyone has experience of the internal cream? I was prescribed this by doc for thrush and put it in on Tuesday night this week. Symptoms don't seem any better. In fact after foolishly having sex this morning I feel slightly more sore if anything.

Anyone had any luck with this or can make any other suggestions for how to treat it? Have never had it before. Am also 23 weeks pregnant. (And had an operation on a Batholin's abcess two weeks ago so not sure if this is partly related to that - but GP has said that's healing fine.) Sorry about tmi!!

I think the cream on its own is rubbish.

Are you allowed to use the pessary or the oral treatment whilst pregnant?

Cream on its own does nothing much for me tbh. Has your partner used the cream by the way as otherwise you will keep infecting each other which is frustrating.

When I was pregnant and had persistent thrush a lovely Dutch GP prescribed something like 9 pessaries to take one every night to properly get rid of it. This worked :)

I wouldn't have sex again until you feel OK as otherwise it will be painful I think.

I think it might be that you aren't allowed the oral treatment while pregnant. From QED's answer I'm guessing pessaries are ok so maybe I should ask for that. I did actually ask the doc if it was ok to have sex and she said yes! I should have realised it could potentially infect DH, how daft. He does know obviously but it didn't put him off! Am seeing the midwife next week anyway so maybe I'll try and hold on til then and ask her for something else.

I've seen a few things about live yoghurt but am actually slightly unsure as to whether you're meant to eat it or, er, apply it! is that just an old wive's tale?
