Insurance in the US for antenatal care

Hello

Hope this is the right place to post this.

We're hoping to move to the US in the autumn for year with my husband's job :)

I'll hopefully either be pregnant with #2 by then or will fall pregnant whilst we're away. However I'm concerned about insurance - my husband's work will provide medical cover but I want to make sure that what we're getting will cover antenatal care, childbirth and postnatal follow-ups since I realise that it could otherwise be quite an expensive matter...

Does anyone know if there's anything in particular I should insist on in the insurance (or any hidden loopholes to look out for)? My first pregnancy was highly uneventful and I didn't have a C-section (although obviously that doesn't mean the second will be like that!!).

Thanks.

Hello, do you mind me asking what insurance you got? I'm going to the US in the Autumn when I'm 5 months pregnant, and will be out until 7 months preg. I have insurance to cover complications in pregnancy, but looking into the best way to get antenatal care covered while I'm out there. Any advice would be appreciated!

Most employment based insurance cover everything for pregnancy, save for perhaps a $1 co-pay - but not all do. You need to know the details of the policy. Some will only cover complications.

** $100 copay
